Black gold or blackened gold is not a natural metal, it’s yellow, rose, or white gold that has been burned, blackened by using acids, by painting the gold, by baking enamel onto the gold, or by plating the gold with black rhodium.
We do not work with or recommend black gold engagement rings. By blackening gold, you compromise the integrity of the metal. Any blackened effect will also eventually wear or chip off.
Although some people like the look of black gold, it’s not durable or lasting and should not be used in engagement rings.
Have sensitive skin? You may have a metal sensitivity.
We can work with you in-person at our studio or set up a video call to help you take the first step toward designing a ring. Design consultations are complementary and we’ll give you a quick call before your meeting to make sure we can help you.
